The 6 Most Terrifying Foods in the World by Tim Cameron

Humans are like goats. We'll eat any damned thing. Just ask the people who make PowerBars.

In fact, you'll find foods in this world that don't even seem possible. Not just that they could exist, but that people would actually stick this stuff in their mouths without a gun to their head.

We've found six dishes that seemed to have sprung from Satan's own cookbook.

Reader's Digest: Best Subscription I've ever got!

A year or so ago, I ordered prints of some of my pics from www.snapfish.com, a very good photo hosting, sharing and printing website. For being a (loyal) customer,in the confirmation e-mail it sent me a link to www.mybonuscenter.com from where I could apply for subscription of upto 4 magazines for merely $2.00 each. I am always very cautious about such websites but, the offer was very lucrative and tempting so I ordered only one magazine of which I'm always very fond of. Yeah, You guessed it right ...."Reader's Digest". That was the best deal/subscription I've ever got in my life so far. The offer was legitimate, I was charged only $2.00 on my credit card. I regularly got all the 12 issues plus a condensed select edition book. All for only $2.00. The retail price for single issue is $3.00. Of course, the offer was tricky as If I wouldn't have canceled my subscription at the end of the year then my credit card would have been charged regular subscription charges. But before they continue my subscription for the next year,at the end of the year, I got a mail from RD asking whether I wanted to continue or not and canceling the subscription (which I did of course)was also a swift process. And then after a few days I got another mail consisting another select edition book and two gift items. Wow, 12 issues, two select edition books and two gift items...too good a deal for $2.00.

And besides of all these, I haven't even mentioned about the best quality stuff that I got to read in those 12 issues.
I checked RD website and found out that its only $10 for one year and $15 for two year subscription. But, still I'm waiting for someone to give me a coupon code for RD so that I can get it for just $2.00. I know what you might say...what a cheap bastard.... :)

Note: I'm wondering why southern pacific car? If anyone knows please leave a comment...

I bought a Nokia N72 and I love it !!!

Finally I bought a new phone and its not iPhone. Its Nokia N72. I love this phone. Why? Cuz its new, its mine and many other reasons like good looks, light weight and loads of functionalities including, E-mail,IM, music player, Video player, muvee creator, 2.0 MP camera etc...There are a lot more but I don't need them by far now.....

The only con is RS-MMC (Reduced Size-Multimedia Memory)card. The phone came with only 124 MB RS-MMC so I ought to buy a larger capacity RS-MMC.

For more..follow the LINK

And yes, my cell number has been changed so here it is, once again, for all those lazy asses whom I sent an e-mail both on yahoo and gmail and didn't care to save the new number..

How to make a Favicon?

Did anyone notice something new? No? Look again... Okay.. if you did notice, good and if not, look at the corner of your browser's address bar. You should be able to see a miniature image of myself. Many websites and blogs are branding themselves by introducing this kind of image or logo appended to their web address. Its called Favicon (fav-eye-con). Its very easy to make and fun to have. Besides it gives your readers, a visual perspective of yourself or of your persona. So do you wanna have one? I can show you how....

---->>> First you need to have an image or logo ready for your Favicon.
If you are a blogger, the best Favicon would be your image as a Favicon. If you are an artist kinda person or wanna keep your identity personal and rather represent the flavor of your blog or your personality with a logo, you can either use MS Paint or PhotoShop.

---->>>> Now you can either use Irfanview - Download Here - or GIMP - Download Here - to crop and convert the image to size 16x16 and file extension .ico

---->>>> I used GIMP as it lets you resize and convert the image file very easily.
Once you have downloaded GIMP, open the image you wanna make a Favicon of, with GIMP.

---->>>> Then Right click on the image -> image -> Scale Image....

---->>>> Scale Image window would pop up.

---->>>> Adjust Image Size. Adjust Height to - 16, Width to - 16 and click on the little nexus right beside of the height and width boxes. Then click Scale.

Then Go to File--->>Save As---->>>Microsoft Windows Icon---->>> Save.

For additional help: http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Lite_Quickies/

Now, Upload this .ico image on Tripod as many other image hosting sites might not allow you to upload .ico file. When you upload this image on tripod, please DO NOT upload the image in private folder under file manager. Create a public folder and then upload the image in the public folder.
The reason to create a public folder is that if you'd store the image in private folder, users might not see your Favicon as they don't have your user id and password for tripod.

After doing that, add following HTML between < head > < /head > tags.

HTML:

< LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://yourusername.tripod.com/_public/yourfilename.ico" >

That's it! You should see your icon now, if you did it correctly.

Hope you would find this helpful.

Stop surfing, make friends.....

Students at India's premier institute IITB (Indian Institute of Technology,Bombay) have been barred from free internet access from 11pm to 12.30 pm. Authorities at IITB believe that the ban would encourage students to socialize with their colleagues which in turn would lead to low degree of depression and suicides among the students.
Link to the article.

So, whats up? What am I thinking???

First of all, neither I'm an expert on the subject matter nor I'm affected by this sanction as I'm not a student of IITB. And secondly, who on the planet earth care about my opinion, anyways?

But guys, as 24th of march approaching, which is international computer shutdown day (I voted for "Yes, I can") this news got me thinking....
No internet for 13 and a half hours everyday??? Thats cruelty man...
For one day its okay...but everyday??? no..no..nope....
Ofcourse, every coin has two sides, and students might hook up to internet for longer hours at night downloading, chatting, blogging, but, who would go knock on the neighbor's door at 11.00 pm and strike a conversation just to socialize? And these are IITians..they would definitely circumvent the system and find other ways to go online. Also, there are many other ways to restrain from socializing, say for example, reading or watching cable TV.
I admit, most of the times, surfing is a wastage of time as this is the era of information overload. You can't get enough ever... But at the same time, this is the right time to understand what internet really is for. I mean, c'mon guys, you don't have to check your e-mails every 10 minutes or you don't have to be on messenger 24X7? Either facebook or myspace or orkut or ringo, only one of these profiles is enough to maintain second life. How many RSS feeds you wanna add to your reader? You gotta define your area of interest and you gotta limit the no of feeds too cuz almost all news rss feeds are almost same.(Not talking about Blog Rss feeds :) )

IITians are considered the best minds in India and surely they understand whats right or wrong for them. So let the verdict be left to the students....

Do you dare to live without computers?? Just for one day??

http://shutdownday.org/ is experimenting a global effort(a crazy idea) of turning off the computers on March 24 to prove that mankind built the computers and networks to help do things efficiently not to be addicted or be dependent of it. Of course , the computers and internet is a great resource for research, learning, organizing, gaining knowledge, buying stuff and entertainment but its also a big time waster. One of the team members, Michael, states that its too easy to get absorbed and start living a virtual life but its great to have one day where we all can remember what the real world is about. In today's world of Google, you tube, my space, gmail, yahoo and many other web 2.0 applications/ portals where we have more friends online than offline, do you think that you can restrain yourself from hitting that tiny power button on your desktop/laptop for just 24 hours?

If you wanna express your vote or you might just wanna know out of curiosity that how many people think they can be offline for one day, go to their website shutdownday.org.
You can also express your ideas/views about this experiment on their forum Here.
If you wanna know more about shutdown day, go to their blog here.
